The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its extremist allied militias linked to the former regime continue to disrespect established military doctrine and ethical norms. Driven by an ideology of immorality and hatred, they continue to unleash uncontrolled violence against innocent civilians.

In continuation of this hostile methodology, SAF warplanes carried out an indiscriminate bombing campaign today, dropping over 17 barrel bombs on the western outskirts of Mellit in North Darfur, targeting a herd of more than 300 camels. This cowardly act resulted in the tragic deaths of seven shepherds and the loss of hundreds of livestock, as well as the burning of barns.

These atrocities add to the ever-expanding list of crimes committed by the former regime over the past 30 years. These acts show a blatant disregard for international conventions and human rights law.

The RSF underscores once more that these heinous crimes carried out by the extremist former regime against innocent civilians all across our country only strengthen our resolve to eradicate the National Congress Party, to put an end to this war, and to establish a just, inclusive, and democratic Sudan.
